Saudade'

A dark Psychological drama. Exploring Alice's fractured mind and her search for what lays within her long buried memories. Alice becomes lost within the memories she aches for opening the door to her hidden self. Directed by and starring Kemal Yildirim, a well know film maker and actor in the UK Indie film world.

This short film is almost darkly poetic in its style and direction. The two main actors and their volatile relationship as it nears break-up holds your attention in a series on interjected flashbacks from the memory of the main female character. The third character, the girl's father, played by Sean Botha, adds a further element to the story and fills in part of the history of the main female. But she holds a dark secret and the film leads to its startling revelation. The viewer is left to piece together the fullness of the story and is deliberately invited to fill in the journey gaps. A film which leaves the viewer in thoughtful contemplation about the story and about the impact of love, loss and entrapment.
